Community Improvement Organization Inc. (CIO) Mission

Our mission is to revitalized communities in need, by improving the living conditions of children, the elderly, veterans, and families in need. Our organization currently has three programs in place, the Hands-On Service Learning Program, low Income Housing Repair Program and Basic Needs and Emergency Assistance Program. Firstly the Hands-On Learning Program helps high school, and college students gain real world skills through hands on experience. The Hands-On Learning Program will coincide with the current lesson plans of each instructor, to further enhance the learning process of each student participating. This program appoints assignments to the students, to further develop and fine tune their skills in the areas of their interest, career, and academic requirements. Our Service Learning partners include Miami-Dade College, Florida International University (Medical and Law school), American Advanced Technicians Institute, Florida National University, Hialeah Gardens Senior High, Mater Middle-High School, Miami Killian Senior High and His House Children's Home. Secondly, the Low Income Housing Repair Program’s primary focus is to give our beneficiaries the opportunity to have a safe, healthy and better life, by improving the living conditions of low income families, people with special needs and seniors. The low Income Housing Repair Program is carried out in an environmentally friendly manner, emphasizing energy efficiency by using green products, appliances and recycled materials. Lastly, the Basic Needs and Emergency Assistance Program provides services to low-income families/individuals that are experiencing a financial emergency and cannot help themselves. For example some of the assistance provided may include: food, utilities payments, clothing, blankets, infant needs, prescriptions, rent down payment, shelter for homeless people (thought-out our partners), bus fare, gasoline gift card, personal hygiene products, etc. Our goal is for CIO to become a highly accessible and successful community based organization and consistently provide provisions and services to needy members of our local communities. Community Improvement Organization's goal is to become the leading provider in humanitarian community development, and improvement services.
